Dr. Shankle and his team have wonderful "bedside manner", are pleasant and curious about your conditions and/or diagnosis, and leave no stone unturned to find answers to help the patient. Dr. Shankle was the only Doctor I have seen who looked at all my symptoms, including symptoms that were in other specialties of medicine. He was the only Doctor who noticed or suspected that there was possibly something wrong with my immune system. He was the only Doctor who bothered to look up my Diethylstilbestrol exposure in utero and how this may have impacted my body, in terms of immune system, brain function and other functions. He was the only Doctor who was curious enough to look into my gut/brain connection and connect all the dots with my SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth), my immune system and my brain function. All systems in the body are related and he looks at everything and how it might impact something else in the body, and specifically the brain function. His office staff is courteous, friendly and efficient. Dr. Shankle and his staff, (N.P. Sarah Young), the front office staff, Grant, and others, plus Alyssa who monitors medication, and the woman who administers cognitive testing are kind, warm, and put the patient at ease. They have the utmost patience in listening to the patient's concerns. Dr. Shankle and staff explain everything clearly, and if the patient has more questions or needs more clarification, they suggest an email, and the emails are answered by the appropriate person within a reasonable amount of time. I had many symptoms that scared me when I first walked into the office. Dr. Shankle uncovered what is causing them, did the necessary testing, and collaborated with me to decide what was the most important to tackle first, and what we would try first to help with each condition. He and his staff are well worth the money you have to pay to have him as your concierge neurologist. He is also a renowned researcher who is doing studies to create treatments that are less risky and more effective in treating Alzheimer's and Dementias. I highly recommend Dr. Shankle and staff.

DR. SHANKLE IS VERY THOROUGH AND TAKES TIME TO DISCUSS YOUR STATUS AND TREATMENT PLAN. HE IS VERY KINOWLEDGEABLE AND PATIENT. I BELIEVE HE HAS AN EXCELLENT UNDERSTANDING OF MY NEUROLOGICAL ISSUES! I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT HIS STAFF IS VERY PLEASANT TO WORK WITH AND THEY TOO SEEM KNOWLEDGEABLE AND TAKE TIME TO ANSWER QUESTIONS AND ADDRESS CONCERNS. After a long search for answers in the wake of my sibling's continued decline, Dr. Shankle was able to systematically and thoroughly evaluate her symptoms and help us confirm and refine her diagnosis. His office has consistently been optimistic, supportive, and collaborative in her treatment planning and we have felt heard and listened to. Dr. Shankle's (and Sara's!) kindness, compassion, and honesty have been so helpful in deciding every next step in our journey.

Dr Shankle is cutting-edge in his practice and I feel he has given me the ownership of my treatment to progress in a way that is most effective and less stressful than a cookie-cutter methodology that may have been prescribed by another doctor. I always enjoy meeting with him to discuss my progress and next steps. Sara and Jasmine are also great!

I feel so fortunate to be one of Dr. Shankle’s patients. I have seen several Neurologists before I became a patient at the Shankle Clinic. Most do not specialize in dementia. Dr. Shankle is a one of top authorities in the country.
The treatment is individualized so it inspires my complete trust. Most importantly it inspires hope to my family.

Thank you, thank you I feel so secure in the way Dr. Shankle, knows my history and is just absolutely brilliant. Always on top of the latest and greatest things with the brain, etc.. I will be following up with Sarah as I wasn’t entirely honest at today’s meeting. I was kind of in shock that the subdural hematoma was so large. I’m trying to get the Medical Records from Santa Rosa, Memorial Hosp but what I wasn’t honest about was I only stopped the dipyridamole 75 mg twice daily for just a few days. I’ll call Sarah tomorrow, but I’ve completely stopped it just in case.

Dark clouds and a Silver Lining outcome
It was an early morning in February 2019 when my wife received the news that she was diagnosed with Fast Stage Alzheimer’s disease. She told me that night, “if I don’t know who you are, or my family, I don’t want to live”. That moment in time was the most devastatingly painful experience in our 61 years of marriage. And, a miracle happened. A few months later, sitting in Dr. William Shankle’s office reviewing all the final lab, MRI and pathology results he told my wife and I “there is good news here, with the treatment protocol I will be implementing, your wife will have an excellent chance to live a long, happy, and productive life.” I jumped up and hugged and kissed him. In November 2019 my wife was re-tested and one of the test score components showed that she completed a task in 31 seconds compared to taking 91 seconds in February – a two thirds improvement!! God bless Dr. Shankle.
